Tip of the day #30

Don't Assume-

Don't assume, it makes an .... you know the saying...  When someone assumes something instead of just asking a simple question that could avoid say an additional trip to the store, or avoid an accident or mishap at work, or avoid an argument or a feud or avoid anything negative really, We think to ourselves, 'why would they assume instead of just asking a simple question?".

Definition of Assume:

"take to be the case or to be true;  to accept without verification or proof"

Now you know why the saying goes "to assume make an a$$ out of  U & ME- get it- assume- ass-u-me- assume.

Be the big person, ask the question, don't assume. It's embarrassing when you realize you are wrong.

Parents (add on)

The previous post was not as a result of anyone complaining to me about anything. Not family, not friends- If it got to you and caused you to lash out or feel guilty or make a phone call consider why it did. DONT BLAME OHTERS FOR YOUR INACTIONS AND IRRESPONSIBILITY- I've never heard the main caregiver of my relatives EVER complain about her responsibilities with her mom. You can apologize at any point if you acccused her. This post was general- no pointed at any one in particular.

Parents

Parents-

Parents can be alot of things to alot of people for alot of years, but one thing they should never be is expendable.

Whether you have parents or not, whether you want parents or not or whether you need parents or not, most of us have them at one point in our lives. Some for 60 years, some for 60 months and some for 60 minutes. Whether you have them now or lost them young is nothing that you can control. If you don't have them it gives you  no special 'feel sorry for me' privileges and if you do have them it gives you no 'feel sorry for me' privileges.

Parents, no matter who they are, should be treated with respect no matter how old or young they are. They raised you and took care of you and you are where you are today because they chose to have you. You may not like how they raised you or who they are today but that was their choice.

Tip of the day #29

Create good habits-

Good habits are just good choices made over and over again.

Tip of the day #28

Be a responsible parent-

This was originally going to be Sunday's tip of the day- But since Anita and I were under the weather we took care of each other and I didn't feel like thinking let alone typing or anything else for that matter. But PTL I'm almost back to normal and here goes.

Some parents forget that they are parents and have little ones to raise. You'd think that after, say, 15 years they would realize 'hey I better stop acting in my usual irresponsible ways and set a good example'.

Most critical 4 years!

As parents, we choose to have children and therefore we are obligated to sacrifice almost everything in our life to raise, teach and protect...
