The Joy of being a father

The joy of being a father is something that cannot be understood by any, except a father. Sometime I sit on the couch at 10:30 when Anita should be sleeping, watching her read a book and enjoying hearing what words she puts to the pictures she sees. Watching Anita try to love Rowan but instead pull him over or almost strangle him with a hug. Anita and I give each other "little nut brown hare and big nut brown hare hugs" which is the coolest! Rowan always runs over and has a hug for me when I get home from work. Whether he is in bed at 830 or wants to be held at midnight we snuggle that baby and thank the Lord for giving us more time to hold him this night. He is an awesome little boy. The unique personalities that each child has and watching them develop into themselves is an awesome privilege and responsibility to teach them right. Raising a child up in the and teaching them the truth in God's word Is the most rewarding responsibility a human being can have.
I believe it when I say that no hobby, no person, no trophy, no sport, no talent or ability, no money, no championship, no parent, no spouse, no job and no achievement could ever bring the joy that being a father does when he gives his babies back to God for his safe keeping and direction. The joy of being a father cannot be explained or understood unless it is another father saying "I know what you mean"
